When a Bybit Master Trader enables SyncMaster with Forced Sync, followers cannot freely edit eight USDT Perpetual copy-trading parameters. Followers can still choose an eligible investment amount, set Copy Stop Loss where the current interface permits it, manually close copied positions and stop copying, but the Master Trader controls the synchronized risk template. Forced Sync does not guarantee identical fills, lower risk or profit.

SyncMaster and Forced Sync at a glance
| Question | Practical answer for a follower |
|---|---|
| What does “SyncMaster is now enabled” mean? | The Master Trader has enabled Forced Sync, so supported USDT Perpetual copy parameters synchronize with the Master Trader’s template. |
| Can I edit the synchronized settings? | No. The eight parameters listed below are locked while Forced Sync applies. |
| What can I still decide? | You can enter an investment amount that meets the displayed minimum and set Copy Stop Loss under More Settings. You can also manually close copied positions or stop copying. |
| Will Forced Sync make my result identical to the Master Trader’s? | No. Market execution, slippage, balance, position limits, CopyGuard, leverage alignment and missed orders can produce different positions and returns. |
| What if the Master Trader turns it off? | After Forced Sync is disabled, the follower regains editing control, but the last synchronized values remain until the follower changes them. |
The eight settings a follower cannot change under Forced Sync
Bybit’s current SyncMaster documentation identifies the following eight USDT Perpetual parameters as controlled by the Master Trader when Forced Sync is enabled:
- Margin Mode
- Maximum Position Margin Per Contract
- Maximum Daily Position Limit
- Stop-Loss Ratio Per Order
- Take-Profit Ratio Per Order
- Maximum Slippage Per Order
- Bybit CopyGuard
- Choose a Contract
These are not merely suggested values while Forced Sync is active. The follower cannot customize them. Without Forced Sync, SyncMaster settings operate as recommendations that the follower can edit before confirming the copy relationship.
What a follower can still control
| Follower action | Available under Forced Sync? | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|
| Choose the initial copy investment | Yes | It must meet the minimum shown for that Master Trader and your live account. |
| Set Copy Stop Loss (CSL) | Generally yes, under More Settings | CSL is an account-level protection trigger, not a guaranteed execution price or complete loss limit. |
| Edit the eight synchronized parameters | No | The Master Trader controls them while Forced Sync is enabled. |
| Place a new follower entry order | No | A follower does not independently place entry orders inside the copy relationship. |
| Manually close a copied position | Yes | The close is a market order and can fill differently from the price displayed when submitted. |
| Stop copying | Yes | You must choose how remaining positions are handled; stopping the relationship does not erase existing market risk. |
For a detailed account-level exit trigger, read the Bybit PCSL trigger, equity and reset guide. PCSL or CSL can reduce exposure after a threshold is reached, but an order still faces market conditions, liquidity, slippage and system risk.
What happens when the Master Trader changes Forced Sync
- Enables Forced Sync: the supported settings are automatically synchronized, and Bybit says followers receive an email notification.
- Edits synchronized parameters: updated values are automatically applied. Bybit says followers do not receive an email for every edit.
- Raises the minimum investment: an existing copy relationship can continue, but the follower cannot reduce the investment below the new minimum.
- Disables Forced Sync: the last synchronized settings remain until the follower changes them. Bybit says there is no email notification for disabling it.
- Open positions exist: Bybit states that the Master Trader can enable, disable or edit Forced Sync only when the Master Trader has no open position.
A follower therefore should not treat the configuration seen on the first day as permanently fixed. Recheck the Copy Trading User Center and current risk limits, especially after receiving a SyncMaster email or before increasing the investment.
Why the follower’s result can differ from the Master Trader’s
Forced Sync aligns selected parameters; it does not create a shared order book, identical account balance or guaranteed execution. Bybit explains that copy orders are processed order by order. Positions in the same direction and contract may be combined and displayed at an average entry price, while each account’s fills and constraints remain separate.
| Cause of divergence | How it can affect the follower |
|---|---|
| Market-order execution | Follower entries and exits can fill at different prices because liquidity and price can change between orders. |
| Insufficient available balance | A copy order or leverage adjustment may fail, leaving a different position from the Master Trader. |
| Slippage control | An order can be rejected or filled differently when the allowed slippage and current market do not match. |
| Position or daily limits | A new order can be reduced or skipped after an account-specific or synchronized cap is reached. |
| CopyGuard and contract selection | Eligibility checks or the synchronized contract list can prevent a trade from being copied. |
| Manual follower action | Closing a copied position or stopping the relationship changes future exposure independently of the Master Trader. |
| Different leverage, entry price or account equity | Liquidation price, ROI and drawdown can differ even when the trade direction is the same. |
Past Master Trader performance, a high ranking or synchronized parameters do not guarantee future results. A follower can be liquidated or lose the entire allocated margin before a Master Trader exits. The broader Bybit Copy Trading guide explains copy modes, evaluation criteria and profit sharing.
Do not assume one universal minimum or slippage number
Current Bybit help pages do not present one perfectly consistent universal minimum. The July 2026 Getting Started and parameter pages generally state a 100 USDT minimum, while another current comparison page displays a 50 USDT minimum and a 50–1,000 USDT Master Trader range. Bybit also notes that a Master Trader can require a higher minimum. The live copy-confirmation screen for the selected Master Trader is the controlling practical check.
Likewise, current official copy-trading pages describe slippage defaults differently depending on their context and update date. Do not import a percentage from an article into every contract. Check the exact product, trading pair and Maximum Slippage Per Order shown in your live account. If Forced Sync is enabled, that synchronized value is not editable by the follower.
A practical workflow when “SyncMaster is now enabled” appears
- Confirm product and eligibility. Verify that Copy Trading Classic and the selected USDT Perpetual contracts are available in your region and account.
- Open every synchronized setting. Record the margin mode, caps, per-order TP/SL, maximum slippage, CopyGuard state and contract list before funding the copy relationship.
- Check the displayed minimum. Use the value in the live confirmation flow rather than assuming 50 or 100 USDT applies universally.
- Size the investment independently. Meeting a minimum is not the same as choosing a prudent amount. Consider total account equity and the possibility of losing all allocated margin.
- Set CSL or PCSL if appropriate. Choose a threshold you understand and read what happens to open positions when it triggers.
- Review the Master Trader. Examine drawdown, trading duration, position concentration, leverage behavior and whether returns rely on one short period.
- Monitor failed or missed copies. Notifications can be delayed. Check the User Center, positions, orders and balance directly.
- Know the exit choice in advance. Decide whether you would close remaining positions at market or stop new copying while waiting for the Master Trader’s closing signal.
Stopping Forced Sync or stopping copy trading
A follower cannot switch off the Master Trader’s Forced Sync while continuing that synchronized relationship. The practical follower choices are to keep the relationship, manually close exposure, or stop copying according to the options Bybit presents. Bybit currently describes two treatments for remaining positions: close them immediately at market, or keep them until the Master Trader sends the closing signal while no new entries or position changes are copied.
Those choices can lead to materially different results. A market close can slip; waiting leaves market and liquidation risk open and may no longer mirror later adjustments. Read the step-by-step guide to stopping Bybit Copy Trading and handling open positions before selecting either path.

Frequently asked questions
What does SyncMaster mean on Bybit?
SyncMaster is Bybit’s feature for aligning a follower’s copy-trading parameters with a Master Trader’s settings. When the interface says SyncMaster is enabled through Forced Sync, the eight listed USDT Perpetual parameters are locked to the Master Trader’s template.
Can a follower change leverage under Forced Sync?
The official locked list names Margin Mode rather than a standalone leverage field. However, copy-mode settings, account balance and leverage alignment can still affect the resulting position. Read the exact live parameter panel; do not assume Forced Sync guarantees identical leverage or liquidation price.
Can I set my own stop loss?
You cannot edit the synchronized Stop-Loss Ratio Per Order under Forced Sync. Bybit’s SyncMaster page says a follower can still set Copy Stop Loss under More Settings. These are different controls: one applies per copied order, while the other protects the copy relationship at account level according to the selected rule.
Will my trades and profit match the Master Trader exactly?
No. Market fills, timing, slippage, account balance, limits, missed orders, average entry price and manual actions can differ. Forced Sync standardizes selected settings, not execution or outcome.
Will I be notified when Forced Sync changes?
Bybit says followers receive an email when a Master Trader enables Forced Sync, but not when the Master Trader edits synchronized parameters or disables it. Check the User Center rather than relying solely on notifications.
What happens after Forced Sync is disabled?
The last synchronized values remain. They do not automatically revert to the follower’s old settings, so review and edit them if the interface restores follower control.
Is the minimum investment 50 USDT or 100 USDT?
Current official pages show different general figures, and Master Traders can set higher minimums. Use the exact minimum displayed for the selected Master Trader and account at confirmation. Do not send funds based only on a static article value.
Does Bybit charge a separate copy-trading fee?
Bybit’s current Copy Trading Classic FAQ says standard derivatives trading and funding fees apply and there is no separate copy-trading fee, while profit sharing may apply to profitable copied trades. Check your account’s fee rate, VIP treatment and the Master Trader’s displayed profit-sharing terms.

Final takeaway
Forced Sync gives the Master Trader control over eight important USDT Perpetual copy settings, but it does not transfer responsibility for the follower’s investment decision. Record the synchronized template, check the live minimum and eligibility, set account-level protection deliberately, monitor missed orders and understand both exit options before you copy.
Risk warning: Crypto copy trading and USDT Perpetual contracts involve leverage, liquidation, market, liquidity, slippage, funding, custody, counterparty, system, cybersecurity, legal and regulatory risks. A Master Trader can lose money, settings can change, copied orders can fail, and stops may execute away from their trigger or fail during severe conditions. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Nothing in this article is investment, financial, legal or tax advice; verify the live account and do not commit funds you cannot afford to lose.
